Now on its 2nd year, the newly implemented
K-12 education program commenced by the Department of Education proved to be a
fluke as it didn't have enough funding from the government.
Teachers from different parts of the
Philippines have ample complaints about the implementation of the system
because due to the insufficient fundings, first grade teachers now have to
teach kindergarten pupils who were supposed to have their own volunteer during
the program's first year. Today, first grade teachers had to allocate their
afternoon schedules teaching kindergarten, which in return, might also affect
the quality of education being offered to Grade 1 students since this level is
the primary working load of the aforementioned teachers.
Furthermore, educators double their workload
for the same compensation amount which I think is somewhat very discouraging of
the Philippines' government system. Why did they have to implement such program
when they didn't have much to fund it with?
The program rendered useless now that it has
slowly degraded itself to a unsatisfactory method in teaching. Not enough
classrooms. Not enough teachers. Not enough pay.
The K-12 Education program is run by nothing
but guts and pride. To show other countries the huge step the Philippine
education system has taken. To show the Filipino people the fraud economic
milestone the country is said to be experiencing. But the truth is, there's
nothing. Nothing that the Philippine Education System should be proud of having
this kind of system. Nothing that the Filipino people should be proud of their
government either.
There are a lot of people whom until now are doubtful of the effectiveness of this newly implemented K-12 curriculum. They doubt if this curriculum would be a success since there is no enough funds allotted for this in the first place.
